Boxx The Artist

Boxx The Artist (she/her/they) synthesizes expressionistic portraiture through acrylics, digital, and public art that examines the African Diaspora providing cultural images that honor a marginalized community and expresses her love for Blackness. She is an Indianapolis based full-time, visual artist practicing for 6 years, from Gary, Indiana. Boxx has featured work in the Black Creativity Juried 2022 and 2023 Exhibit (Chicago Museum of Science and Industry), and the 26th African American Art Exhibition (Roanna H. Victor Gallery at Actors Theatre of Louisville), and honored as 2023 & 2024 Hoosier Women Artist by the Indiana Lt. Governor. She has served in various residencies, fellowships, apprenticeships, and mural installations notably installing a 5-story civic mural for the City of Indianapolis, a permanent mural installation in the Indiana State Museum, as well as a mural for the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibit at Conner Prairie: Living History Museum. Her work has been featured in the Indianapolis Airport, as well as several media publications such as Fox59, WishTV, WRTV, Indystar, Nuvo, Indianapolis Recorder and more. T Lance

T Lance (she/they) is an artist, educator, and gallery professional. Originally from Louisville, KY, Mx. Lance works and resides in Posey County Indiana. They received their Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from the University of Southern Indiana (USI) in 2014. They went on to receive their Bachelor of Art in Visual Art Teaching with minors in both P-12 Education Licensure and Arts & Heritage Administration from USI in 2018. Mx. Lance is currently taking a break from pursuing a Master of Public Administration at USI with an emphasis in Nonprofits. Lance’s work has been exhibited nationally and published internationally. Lance has over 7 years of combined experience working in university galleries and art collections. They are currently the Senior Gallery Associate at New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art where they oversee the Gallery Shop and assist the curator. Lance has taught several workshops in various media. During her student teaching assignment, Lance instructed high school ceramics and received an Outstanding Future Educator Award from the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (IACTE) in 2018. They were also a substitute teacher for Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation 2018-2019 which included a 4-month extended assignment teaching high school ceramics. Mx. Lance joined the New Harmony Clay Project as an instructor in 2019 and took over as part-time Program Manager in 2023.

wavy (they/them), a 24 year old interdisciplinary artist with a focus in music and textile arts, has their roots embedded in the soil of Buffalo, NY. They are a student at the Buffalo Institute for Contemporary Art School (BICA), as well as BICA’s Gallery Assistant and Generator Fund Coordinator. Additionally, they work as a curator and organizer at the intersection of music and art as the founder of Group Chat, a mixed bill showcase. Their work has been exhibited in the project space at BICA, Buffalo Arts Studio, UB CFA, The Crucible, and C. Stuart & Jane H. Hunt Art Gallery. They have completed residencies at The Space Between through the UB Arts Collaboratory, Residency V at C. Stuart & Jane H. Hunt Art Gallery, and currently are a resident with the initial cohort at Agatha Falls, as well as at the Brisbane Building through generous support from the Burchfield Penney Art Center and Ghost Room Art.

Kelvin Burzon

Kelvin Burzon is a Filipino-American artist whose work explores intersections of sexuality, race, gender, and religion. His most recent work investigates religion’s role in culture and familial relationships and highlights religion’s traditions, imagery theatricality, and psychological vestige. 

Burzon graduated from Indiana University’s School of Art & Design. His work has been exhibited abroad and nationally and is part of several permanent collections including the Kinsey Institute and the Center for Photography at Woodstock. Burzon has presented his work at several conventions including the Society of Photography at Woodstock Education’s regional and national conferences. 

 
 

Andrea Jandernoa

Andrea Jandernoa is an award-winning artist and educator who specializes in community-based arts programming.  She holds an MA in Philosophy and an MFA in Integrative Studio Practice from Herron School of Art & Design. Jandernoa experiments with intentional processes, materials, and forms, to discover metaphors that can be applied within social contexts. This results in highly collaborative and interdisciplinary art practice.

Jandernoa has contributed to several community-based projects including Indy East Art Peace, Community Innovation Lab, and House Life Project. In her work with the House Life Project, Jandernoa designed Told/Retold, an art installation in an abandoned house in the St. Clair Place neighborhood, to consider how stories about a place are shaped by insider and outsider narratives.

Cierra Rembert

A visual artist, arts administrator and curator based in Cleveland, OH. Cierra Rembert currently serves as the Artist Initiatives Coordinator at SPACES. In her role, she manages three re-granting programs in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation, Cleveland Foundation and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. Her practice as an artist and contributor to the arts is embodied through her mission of creating opportunities and equity within the arts. Cierra holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cleveland State University. Her practice as a visual artist is reflective of black beauty and societal issues through sculpture and painting. She has juried for numerous grants and artist opportunities such as Deep Roots Experience: She Art Vol.3 Transcendence (Cleveland, OH); The Luminary Futures Fund (St. Louis, MO); and The Collective Futures Fund (Boston, MA).
